I heard about Online Project Active at the start of the first lockdown. I got an email from the Students’ Union and signed up straight away. I’d managed to carry on running during lockdown, but I really missed doing Pilates and yoga classes, so signed up for one of each. Having regular classes has kept me going through the whole pandemic.

Some weeks I really didn’t feel like exercising but having that appointment in my calendar and knowing there would be a friendly and supportive group of people on the other end of the call made it so much easier to show up each week. Once I’ve done the class, I feel so much better – I’m more motivated to get on with my work and get out of my flat and do some more exercise the next day.

Like lots of people, I bought a bike during the pandemic and got back into cycling. I also tried swimming in Parliament Hill Lido, because it’s outdoors, and found out I actually quite like the cold water! I’m hoping to do my first triathlon in September and will definitely be carrying on with Project Active classes as part of my training.
