Candidates for the Leadership Race 2024 have been announced. This is your chance to browse all the candidates for leadership positions across Students' Union UCL.
Each year in March, every student at UCL gets the chance to vote and elect the leaders of clubs, societies, and the whole Students’ Union. Thousands put themselves forward and thousands vote. The students you elect start work in the summer and spend the next academic year making more happen at UCL.
More than 3,000 nominations!
We have received 3,441 nominations for 3,047 roles leading clubs, societies and the whole students' union. It's our biggest election ever, topping last year's nominations number of 2,976.
This will be a tightly contested election, with 48 students standing to be Sabbatical Officers and lead the whole students' union. Sabbatical Officers work full-time for a year representing all students at UCL.
Each Officer has a specific area of responsibility, like Education, Activities, or to represent Postgraduate students. They’re part of the Union’s Trustee Board, part of UCL’s Council, part of the committees and working groups that shape UCL, and part of all the decisions which are made that affect students. It's crucial that everyone elects the officers that best represent them, as they'll go on to make a huge impact next year.
Voting opens on Monday 11 March at 09:00
Vote Week 2024 kicks off on Monday 11 March. Last year, more than 10,000 students voted, making our Leadership Race the largest of any other UK University. We're hoping for another high turnout again this year.
