Are you looking for experience making high-level decisions for a large democratic organisation? Or maybe you want to play an active role in representing thousands of your fellow students? Why not join a Students’ Union committee!

As an SU, we’re are a registered charity with over 38,000 members and a multi-million pound annual turnover. But we’re not some huge, unapproachable corporation making decisions on your behalf – we are a democratic organisation run for students by students. There are loads of ways for you to have your say in what we do and how we operate – one of the most important of these is by joining a committee.

The Board of Trustees oversees all the big decision-making in the SU – that means all the financial decisions, as well as making sure that we are governing fairly and democratically.  A lot of this oversight happens in our Governance Committee, Finance Committee, and Risk and Audit Committee.

We are looking for students to be a part of these committees and help make sure the Union is working as it should. If you’re looking for a job in finance, governance, or risk management, this kind of experience will be really helpful – not to mention look great on your CV! Or maybe you’re passionate about student politics and want a say in how the SU works? These committees put you in a position to really make your voice heard.
