Did you know our cafés prioritise stocking products that meet our sustainability promise of putting planet over profit? We thought it was time we started shining a spotlight on some of them, so up first is lemonade producer Gunna who are carbon negative and on a mission to get rid of single use plastic bottles.
You may have noticed some new colourful cans that have appeared in all our Student Union cafes recently. Meet Gunna: bringing you delicious lemonades that do good as well as taste good.
Why do we stock Gunna?
Aside from the fact that their lemonade is vegan, has no artificial flavours or preservatives and has some great flavours, it's a straightforward choice when when you read their eco pledges
- Gunna is double carbon negative, and offsets 2g of carbon for every 1g that is created making a Gunna drink.
- Each year they also invest profits into The Clean Oceans Project, which picks up an unseemly amount of plastic waste that gets washed up on beaches across the world.
- None of their drinks are sold in single use plastic bottles. Additionally, they're campaigning to phase out plastic bottle use in the UK by 2030, by switching to glass or aluminium instead which are more sustainable.
So when you're next time you're on campus why not reach for something different. All three flavours, Twisted Lemonade, Tropical Lemonade and Raspberry Lemonade are available in all our Student Union Cafes
Want to give it a try?
Gunna will be on campus outside Print Room Café on Monday 18 November between 11:00 - 14:00 with samples on hand for you to try.
