The Bloomsbury Shop is open for business. Your new favourite lunchtime spot, your new last-minute cooking supplies saviour, your new pick-up-a-coffee-on-the-way-to-the-library place.
We’ve been so excited to open this new shop, after our Sabbatical Officers pitched to UCL to turn the old art supplies shop into an on-campus convenience store back in 2020. This is a great example of student-led change, and we know how vital the shop will be for all of us, especially as the cost of living keeps increasing.
The shop will stock a huge range of groceries, essentials, and food on the go. So come and pick up your lunchtime meal deal, or a noodle pot with free hot water. We’ll be stocking things like washing up liquid, sanitary products, and shower gel, alongside snacks, fruit and drinks. Oh, and you can even get a takeaway coffee too.
Where can you find us?
Find the Bloomsbury Shop in the South Junction, round the corner from Print Room Café. 10 seconds walk from the main quad – don't even think about trekking to Tottenham Court Road anymore.
What are the opening hours?
We’re open 08:00 – 18:00 Monday – Friday.
What are we selling?
We’ll have all the essentials you need to get by. We’re talking sandwiches and wraps, snacks, frozen goods, household items. The shop is designed with your busy schedules in mind, so expect a great range of £3.50 meal deal options for a quick lunch or snack. Tesco Express or Sainsbury’s Local, but with way more benefits.
We’ll also have a coffee station for when the café queues are a bit too long during the lunch time rush.

Living in London isn’t the easiest, and we aim to make all our services as financially accessible as possible. Convenience stores are the latest addition to our range of student friendly spaces, helping you to stretch your budget a little bit further. BTW our meal deal costs 40p less than Tesco...
We choose planet over profit
We’ve thought hard about our suppliers and make sure that the products we stock come from brands that align with our values. You can check out our Instagram (linked below) where we highlight the brands we think are going the extra mile in the name of sustainability.
We put every penny of profit back into our community
This is what makes us different to other high street chains, as we operate as a social enterprise with 100% of our profits going straight back into the Students’ Union to fund all the exciting activities that bring our community together. We will also be open to the general public as well, which will give us a little boost in the amount we’re able to put towards making student life even better.
