The time for UCL’s biggest student-led decision making event is here: Vote Week 2025! This week is more than just a simple choice; it’s about shaping the future of student life at UCL. And with prizes to win during the week, this is truly an opportunity you cannot miss. If you’re not sure how to vote or what Vote Week is all about, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. I’ll walk you through everything you need to know to make your vote count.
What is Vote Week?
Vote Week is a time for you to decide who will lead and transform the student experience at UCL. From people who lead across clubs and societies, to Sabbatical Officers who work with the Students’ Union to represent the student voice in key issues like welfare, education, and inclusion, your vote helps shape the future of your university life.
I don’t know about you, but I love that we have the power to influence real change at our university. Knowing that my vote actually matters in deciding the direction of UCL makes the whole process exciting and something we should all take advantage of!

How can I vote?
Voting is super easy, and it can all be done online! Just head over to the Leadership Race section on the Students’ Union website. Once you’re there, you’ll find all the candidates’ digital stalls where you can get to know the people running for different positions. If you didn’t get the chance to meet them on campus, this is your opportunity to learn more about who they are and what they stand for.
Honestly, I know it can feel a bit overwhelming with so many candidates to choose from. That’s why I love the “I’m feeling lucky” option! It’s a randomiser that gives you a candidate’s
profile to go through, which is really helpful if you’re not sure who to vote for. It’s a great way to discover someone you might not have considered otherwise.
Don’t forget to visit campus!
If you have the time to come to the main campus during Vote Week, I definitely recommend it. There are some amazing prizes to be won every day, which makes voting even more exciting! Whether you’re taking a break between lectures or just hanging out with friends, stop by and you could walk away with something cool.
I’m talking about a £200 voucher for The Hanger, a brand-new polaroid camera, and even tickets to All Points East Festival! Even if you’re just passing, it’s worth checking out the prize draws. Plus, you’ll have the chance to chat with the candidates in person, which can help you make an even more informed decision.

Still not sure? Here’s why you should vote
I totally get that it can feel like there’s a lot to take in, and sometimes it can feel like voting doesn’t make a big difference. But trust me, every single vote counts. This is our chance to elect the people who are going to represent us for the year ahead. Plus, it’s not just about who wins, it’s about getting involved, making your voice heard, and contributing to the future of UCL.
Good luck, and happy voting!
