Everything you need to know about the General Election Find out more

Written by Zoe Dahse, History & Spanish BA

Hi, I’m Zoe! I’m a 3rd year student studying History with Spanish. I’ve been to Glittoris six times, because it’s an event I enjoy and support so much.

Glittoris is Phineas’ very own monthly LGBTQ+ event, which anyone in the LGBTQ+ community and any LGBTQ+ allies should most definitely attend at least once during their time on campus.

Favourite song to rock out to - Princess of China by Rihanna & Coldplay.

A cocktail I’d recommend to a friend - A raspberry daiquiri never ever fails.

Here’s a rundown of how to make the most of the night:

Get dressed up.

In whatever capacity, go how you want and what you feel most comfortable dancing in. But it does get hot and sweaty after a couple of minutes on the dancefloor so wear light clothes.

Get glittered up.

It’s not called Glittoris for nothing! It’s wholeheartedly your time to sparkle. On your face, on your arms, on your lips, in your hair – wherever you want. And obviously, take lots of hot selfies in the bathroom to capture the moment.

Invite all of your friends.

The phrase “the more the merrier” truly does ring true here. There’s nothing better than throwing it back with a group of friends to some good tunes and a good time. They don’t even have to be UCL students: anyone with a valid UK student ID is welcome. Or make new friends – strike up a conversation, flirt a little… We’re all “happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time” after all.

Enjoy the performances from our wonderfully talented Drag Queens and Kings – as the main attraction, it’s definitely not something you want to miss! At each event there’s also a guest host from Drag Society.

Get involved in the lip-sync competition.

Come on now… push any feelings of inhibition to the side, because truly and ultimately, you only live once. Toxic, by Britney, is a great song to cover…

Head to the bar (more than once).

There’s a 342 offer on bottles and cans you don’t want to miss out on. Also, you don’t have to drink alcohol to have a good time, ever, of course, and there’s plenty of non-alcoholic options available too. Do your thing, the way you want to.

Shake ass.

Most importantly, it’s what you’re there for. Throw away all inhibitions, and let loose.

And if you don’t do all of the above, that’s more than okay. Just go and throw your hair down a bit, and most importantly, have a good time!
