What have delicious global cuisines, artistic talents and a bit of footie got in common? Ah yes, it's our much loved International Festival!

This year we hope you had a blast celebrating our diverse community here at UCL, making new connections and eating some seriously scrumptious food. Read on for some highlights from our International Festival 2024!

International Food Festival 🥙

In the main quad we played host to an aromatic array of flavours profiles from around the world. Whether you were indulging in the delights of succulent Sri Lankan curries, tasty tacos or delectable baklava - we know you had a great time feasting on these dishes.

We know, try not to drool. Featuring Greek delights, Lebanese Shwarma and our very own George Farha Café team presenting our Japanese-inspired menu from Kimiko, our food trucks were truly something you couldn't miss out on. Whatever your tastes preferences lean towards, there was plenty to satisfy and sink your teeth into!

We hope you and your taste buds enjoyed being transported away from London and taken to a whole host of destinations throughout the globe via the enticing world cuisines we had on offer!

Speaking of mouth-watering food - how about submitting a recipe to be featured in our printed International Festival Cookbook? The cookbook will be called 'Tastes Like Home' and will be sold to raise money for the Hardship Fund. We want to showcase a wide variety of dishes to highlight our amazing, diverse community here at UCL.

Your recipe could be anything that springs to your mind - a warming home-cooked meal that has been passed down in your family, your go-to comfort food, or something that you or a family member always makes on special occasions. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the legacy of the International Festival at UCL so submit your recipe now!

Arts Showcase 👯‍♀️

Brightening up a rainy Wednesday afternoon, our cultural societies took to the stage on the Wilkins Terrace to show of their best music, dance, and cultural celebration!

We enjoyed performances from UCLCSSSA, Bhangra Society, KPOP Society, Salsa Society AND Musical Theatre Society. There was great energy both onstage and from the crowd with lots of people coming to support and cheer on the amazing performers.

The salsa society featured beautiful costumes that were funded by the Cultural Fund!

5-a-side Football World Cup Tournament ⚽

As part of International Festival 2024, TeamUCL Leagues hosted a 5-a-side World Cup.

This was a friendly competition, with groups of friends picking a country to represent and trying to claim the top prize.

The event has a great atmosphere which really captured the spirit of what it means to be a part of the International Festival.

We hope you enjoyed the International Festival this year - we certainly did! Well done to everyone who performed in the Arts Showcase and took part in the World Cup Tournament. You are all a part of what makes the UCL student community so special. Don't forget to submit your recipes to be featured in our International Festival Cookbook!
