Here at Students' Union UCL Volunteering Service, we've been getting lots of requests for volunteering opportunities that students can do whilst social distancing measures are in place.
It's been really inspiring to see how many people have been keen to get involved. We've been busy speaking to our community partners to identify volunteering students can do safely, and have also gathered up other London-wide and national volunteering calls as well as online volunteering you can do from your own home where ever you are in the world.
You'll find all of these on our new COVID-19 volunteering directory.
Here are a few suggestions to get you started:
If you're in London - find your borough's COVID-19 volunteering team
If you're anywhere in the UK (including London) - find your neighbourhood COVID-19 mutual aid group
You might like to try some virtual volunteering - such as Zooniverse, British Red Cross Missing Maps or ZSL's Instant Wild - you can do this from anywhere in the world.
And you can support people online - for example, with Age UK Kensington & Chelsea or youth charity The Mix
We're here to help, so if you've any questions or suggestions, please do get in touch - we'd love to hear from you.
Wherever you are in the world, we hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe.
