This June, we're inviting you to be a part of a defining UCL200 moment, and take part in two one-off volunteering events bringing staff and students together to make a collective impact.
Here, World Records Happen
Be part of a UCL200 moment and help make history by taking part in a Guinness World Records™ card-decorating challenge. Instead of receiving greetings cards for UCL’s 200th birthday, we’re coming together to create them.
This will be our biggest Crafternoon yet - bringing together 300 staff and students in a shared attempt to set a new world record for the most people decorating a card at the same time. All materials will be provided, from colouring pencils and collage supplies to stickers and glue. We’re aiming for at least 250 participants to make this a world record, so please do share with your teams and spread the word!
Once your card is complete, you’ll add a short, thoughtful message to brighten someone’s day. The cards will then be shared with local community partners, helping to reduce isolation among older adults.
Join colleagues for a shared UCL200 volunteering moment - step away from your day-to-day and help make a world record attempt possible.
When: Thursday 4 June, 12:00-14:00
Where: The Wilkins Building
The Biggest Help Out
Join us on Tuesday 2 June at 9:00 at the UCL Portico for UCL 200: The Biggest Help Out - a large-scale volunteering event forming part of our UCL Summer Festival.
The day will begin on campus, followed by organised group visits to a range of partner organisations across London. Each group will take part in structured, hands-on activities, with the aim of providing support to local communities. Volunteering opportunities may include activities such as canal clean-ups, river restoration projects, adventure playground improvements - and more!
The event is open to all UCL faculty and professional services staff. To support your involvement, lunch and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Be part of something meaningful and give back to the community and get involved in the first ever mass participation volunteering event at UCL.
When: Tuesday 2 June, 09:00-16:30
Where: Meet at the Portico
