If you have been volunteering on a community project, you may be able to add it to your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR). In order to do so, you’ll need to meet one of the following criteria:
- You have completed at least 20 hours of verifiable community volunteering in one academic year with one of the Volunteering Service’s partner organisations or Student-Led Projects. There are three categories for this on the HEAR – 20 hours, 50 hours and 100 hours.
- If you have been a Project Leader on one of our Student Led Projects, you are eligible to include this on your HEAR, as long as your supervisor in the Volunteering Service is happy to verify.
Note that HEAR is available for most undergraduates; however, postgraduates, medical students and students on a few other courses don’t get one. If you’re unsure, please check UCL’s eligibility guidance for current students.
Please click the button below to tell us about your volunteering; we will then seek confirmation from the people who have supervised or led your volunteering at the end of the academic year. We will not be able to send your details to be updated on the HEAR if they do not respond, so please tell them to expect an email from us.
This Community Volunteering addition to your HEAR is opt-in, rather than opt-out. Please submit your volunteering details at the end of your volunteering placement - and feel free to submit more than once if you'd like to add more to your record. If you have any questions please get in touch.
