Academic Rep in Focus: Sihui Xiong
Sihui Xiong is a student representative in the MSc Venture Capital and Private Equity with Financial Technology program at UCL. Throughout her time in this role, she has developed invaluable leadership and communication skills by serving as a liaison between faculty and students, ensuring that students' voices are heard and fostering meaningful dialogue. This experience has allowed her to grow both professionally and personally, gaining a deeper understanding of the VCPE industry while strengthening her ability to manage diverse perspectives.
Sihui has come to realize that leadership is not just about personal achievement but about embracing the responsibility to help others grow and reach their full potential. Grateful for the guidance and support from her peers and faculty, she believes in expressing gratitude through actions and strives to remain humble while supporting and caring for those around her. Through this role, she has deepened her commitment to creating a collaborative and inclusive environment, understanding the value of empathy, and continuously learning from others in both her academic and professional journey.
Outside of her academic work, she is an active member of the university’s table tennis team, where she has honed valuable teamwork skills and contributed to the team’s success. Her commitment to excellence is reflected both in her studies and extracurricular activities.
