Academic Reps do one of the most important jobs in the Union: They represent your academic interests and ensure students have a voice in enhancing their education.
For Term Two, we are showcasing our Academic Reps through our 'Academic Rep in Focus' weekly segment. You can contact your Academic Rep using our 'Find Your Rep page'.
Academic Rep in Focus: Kartikey Ambulkar
Kartikey Ambulkar is the Course Rep for the MSc in Digital Engineering Management at the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction.
Kartikey conducted surveys to identify key student concerns and organized meetings with the Programme Leader to propose actionable improvements related to course content, assessments, teaching methods, class engagement, and resource accessibility. This ensured that student feedback was effectively translated into meaningful enhancements.
Kartikey actively participated in SPC and the Education and Student Lifecycle Advisory group meetings to improve course delivery and foster student engagement. This role has not only strengthened Kartikey's leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities but also empowered him to advocate effectively for his peers.
Here's what Kartikey has to say about his experience as an Academic Rep:
“Being an Academic Representative at the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction has been a highly rewarding experience. Events like the Academic Rep Conference have allowed me to engage with my peers and promote positive change, ensuring that student voices are heard and valued. Throughout this role, I have gained valuable insights into academic governance and developed strong leadership and communication skills by working closely with faculty to improve our academic experience.”

We'd like to thank Kartikey for all of his hard work so far this academic year!
