Academic Reps do one of the most important jobs in the Union: They represent your academic interests and ensure students have a voice in enhancing their education.

For Term Two, we are showcasing our Academic Reps through our 'Academic Rep in Focus' weekly segment. You can contact your Academic Rep using our 'Find Your Rep page'.

Academic Rep in Focus: Hannah Ford

Hannah Ford is a Research Student Representative for the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences within the Faculty of Population Health Sciences.

As a research student representative for the past two years, Hannah became aware of the challenges in fostering a sense of community within a small, dispersed institute. After this issue was raised by representatives from multiple institutes, Hannah collaborated with the faculty’s student experience manager to organize faculty-wide PhD social events, including hosting a quiz for students.

Here's what Hannah has to say about being an Academic Rep:

“Acting as a quiz host for over 60 students not only boosted my confidence but, after receiving such positive feedback, I am now committed to organising more events and making a meaningful impact on student experience.”

Thank you for all of your hard work, Hannah!
