UCL Financial Assistance Funds

The Essentials Pantry - coming soon!
We know that many students face financial challenges, particularly during the academic year. The Essentials Pantry is for UCL students who are finding it difficult to afford everyday items, including food, drink and hygiene products. You can pick up what you need, free of charge, in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment. Whether you’re dealing with rising living costs, a change in circumstances, or you’re simply finding it hard to make your budget stretch, there is no need to feel embarrassed. We are here to help.
The Essentials Pantry provides short-term support and isn’t intended to replace the longer-term wellbeing, financial or support services available through the Students’ Union and UCL.
How to find us
The Essentials Pantry will be open 10:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday, and is located in our Advice Service on the first floor of the Students’ Union building at 25 Gordon Street.
How does it work?
Visit our Advice Service during opening hours and speak to our receptionist. They will be happy to welcome you and direct you to the Pantry.
Financial literacy and capability
Our financial support is designed to be additional to UCL’s core hardship support. We aim to support students who, for whatever reason, cannot access UCL support but are in financial need - preventing them from continuing or completing their studies, or from taking part in student activities.
