Join Us in supporting an Older People’s Christmas Lunch in Stratford Town Hall
This festive event supports isolated older residents living locally to UCL East by creating a warm and welcoming space to celebrate Christmas together. This event bring people together for great food, conversation, and companionship, spreading joy and connection during the winter season.
What’s a Big Help Out?
Big Help Outs are fun, one-off volunteering opportunities that bring together big groups of volunteers. It’s all about small actions creating big change when we work together. At our events, you’ll always find friendly student and staff faces to make sure you feel welcome and supported!
Why Join In?
Your support will help combat loneliness and bring festive cheer to older residents who might otherwise spend the holidays alone. To support your involvement, travel expenses will be reimbursed, you'll enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner, and maybe make some intergenerational friendships along the way!
What can I expect?
- Welcome guests and help them find their seats.
- Sit with residents, engage in conversation, play games (think bingo, Christmas cracker puzzles and more!)
- Serve (and enjoy!) a festive meal alongside the guests, and make someone's day by being a friendly face and caring mealtime companion
- You’ll play a vital role in creating a joyful and heart-warming experience for our older community members this Christmas!
