This session is part of the Olly's Future Leadership Programme, in partnership with TeamUCL's All Jokes Aside mental health campaign.

Talking about suicide is our best form of prevention, but fears about saying the wrong thing or making things worse can get in the way of us starting a conversation. Talking about Suicide: Ten Tools (TAS10) is a 90-minute training by Olly's Future to remove fears and stigma, and to equip you with practical tools to talk about suicide with someone you are worried about.

This session will be delivered online, safely and sensitively, by an experienced engaging trainer with emotional support, and included is a Life Saving Conversation to illustrate how the ten tools can actually sound.

No prior knowledge or training is needed.

Empowerment workshop: respectful debate & discussion through Active Bystander training
Thursday 5 June 2025, 14:00 - 16:00
Not sure what active bystander means? That's okay! There are three key words to keep in mind here: awareness, action, and safety. So someone being an active bystander notices a situation where someone might need help and chooses to take action in a safe and effective way. This could mean stepping in to stop harmful behaviour, offering support to someone in distress, or seeking help from others. The goal is to create a supportive and safe community where everyone feels empowered to make a positive difference. Why should I think about it?The Active Bystander Programme was developed by the Students' Union UCL to give students the knowledge and practical skills to take action in their community
