Seated yoga is an infinitely adjustable and accessible form of yoga which modifies traditional yoga poses into a practice that can be accessed by anyone effectively and in a safe environment. 

Seated yoga poses tend to be energetically grounding and focus more on flexibility than strength. The seated position creates stability to release and open the body with less effort and greater ease. Additionally, sitting poses create a comfortable and stable base for meditation and yogic breathing. All poses can be fully adaptable depending on your personal needs and abilities to ensure you have a positive experience. 

Chair Yoga has many physical and mental health benefits including;

  • Increased flexibility and mobility
  • Improved strength
  • Reduced stress (mindfulness - Focusing on movement, breathing, and how the body reacts to the exercise creates a kind of moving meditation that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and improves mental clarity)
  • Better coordination and balance

This session is suitable for wheelchair users as well as those with (or without!) mobility limitations. 

NO previous experience required! A qualified yoga instructor will be on hand to guide you through the session.
