Join the UCL LGBTQ+ Network and the UCL Esperanto and Endangered Languages Society for our collab for LGBTQ+ History Month!
Polari is a language that was spoken by gay men in the 19th and 20th centuries in Britain to avoid prosecution and discrimination. There are many similar languages used by the LGBQ+ communities around the world both in the past and present. In this session I will be teaching you about Polari, including its vocab, slang and history, and other Lavender languages around the world.
