The Nordic Connection: Nordic Influence on England and Scotland on Language and Culture

Hello, Welcome back to our very 1st event of 2026, starting with the 1st of 3 lectures on The Nordic Connection, exploring Nordic Influence in the British Isles on Language and Culture,  starting broadly with (Northern) England and Scotland, and then focusing a bit more closely on The Norn Language spoken in Orkney, Shetland and Caithness, and its interaction with Lowland Scots to form Modern Day Shaetlan, culminating w a talk on Nynorn, an ongoing project looking to revive the Norn Language (from a more Old-Norse centric perspective).
