This summer, we brought back a collection of precious materials from Shaxi — the world’s only remaining living market on the Ancient Tea-Horse Road.
These include cotton-linen naturally dyed by local Bai people using unique regional plants, and Jiama woodblock plates that have been passed down for nearly a century.
In Yunnan, Jiama carries the most heartfelt blessings, from mountain gods to mysterious plants and animals. Plant dyeing, meanwhile, embodies the quiet understanding between the local people and nature.
As Christmas approaches, we would like to invite you to join a unique handicraft workshop — to touch these objects infused with natural energy, objects that have travelled across time and geography, and to craft them into a special Christmas gift with your own hands.
In this warm and creative Christmas Workshop, you will make:
- Plant-dyed Phone Strap — experience the gentle colours of natural dyeing.
- Jiama Woodblock Printing — print blessings and cultural symbols carried through generations.
Together, we create a Christmas gift woven with earth’s care, the soul’s echo, and the beauty of culture.
