- Hosted by The Economists' Society
The Economic Tribune, in collaboration with the UCL Economists Society, UCL Law Society and UCL AI Society, invites you to an exclusive speaker event with Akber Datoo – Professor of AI, Finance and Cyberlaw at the University of Surrey; CEO and Founder of D2 Legal Technology (D2LT).
About the Event
This event will explore how AI and LegalTech are redefining the infrastructure of modern capital markets.
From AI-driven contract automation to the digitisation of finance and regulatory compliance, the discussion will examine how these changes are transforming the way financial institutions structure trades, price risk and meet their regulatory obligations – and what the future of capital markets looks like as automation and legal data become central to how markets function.
Leading the conversation is Akber Datoo, CEO and Founder of D2 Legal Technology (D2LT) and Professor at the University of Surrey. A Cambridge-trained computer scientist turned Allen & Overy lawyer turned LegalTech entrepreneur, Akber has spent over a decade advising leading investment banks, asset managers and trade associations — including ISDA, ICMA and ISLA — on the digitisation of law and finance in capital markets. Recognised by the Financial Times as one of the top ten market shapers, he brings a rare combination of legal, technical and commercial expertise to the intersection of finance, law and technology.
Whether you are studying law, economics, finance, data or AI, this event is not to be missed!
