Hear from the brains behind Duolingo

Join us for a candid and thought-provoking conversation with Luis von Ahn, the visionary co-founder and CEO of Duolingo, the language-learning platform with the mission to develop the best education in the world and make it universally available. With over 130 million monthly active users, it is the most popular language-learning platform and the most downloaded education app in the world.

Luis is an entrepreneur and former computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University, considered one of the pioneers of crowdsourcing. Luis is known for co-inventing CAPTCHAs, being a MacArthur Fellow, and selling two companies to Google in his 20s.  His brilliance has been recognised globally, and he has been named one of the 10 Most Brilliant Scientists by Popular Science Magazine and one of the 100 Most Innovative People in Business by Fast Company Magazine.

We'll hear about Luis' journey from academia to entrepreneur,  and you'll have an opportunity to ask him your burning questions. Darcy Lan, Postgraduate Officer at the Students' Union UCL  will be moderating the fireside chat.

Whether you're a linguist, a tech enthusiast, or just someone who’s spent too many hours chasing your Duolingo streak, this is your chance to hear directly from one of the most impactful innovators in education technology.
