You can't fix what you don't understand. Luckily, the Climate Fresk turns climate science into a game!

Played by over 1.8M people worldwide already, this collaborative workshop allows you to understand the essential issues of climate change in order to take action. Based on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report, you'll learn how our climate functions - as well as the consequences of its disruption. Whether you're a novice or an expert, you'll learn a lot in just 3 hours, have fun and connect with likeminded people from the same area.

How it works:

  1. The first part of the workshop is based on a 42-card game. Each card represents an element, a cause or a consequence of climate change.
  2. In teams, guided by facilitators, you have to find the cause-effect relationship between the different components of climate change. Collective intelligence and sharing ideas will get you from one deck of card to the next!
  3. At the end of the game, your new knowledge will set the base to brainstorm the action ideas in the context of climate change education, together.

This workshop is organised as part of UCL 28 Days of Sustainability 2025 for UCL staff and students, and run by trained facilitators from Climate Fresk UK. Please note that this workshop is runs for around 3 hours with a short break in the middle. For a meaningful participant experience, it is important that you are able to commit to the whole session.

If you are unable to take part, please email the organiser, Jinghann Hong (jinghann.hong.24@ucl.ac.uk) so that they may release your spot to someone else.
