Are you yearning for a day in nature outside central London? Always wanted to visit the world-famous Kew Gardens?

We're collaborating with the Flourish ResLife programme to offer students a day trip to Kew Gardens in Richmond, Surrey!

Spend the day exploring the Royal Botanic Gardens and the iconic Temperate House, the world's largest Victorian glasshouse. Beat the January blues with fresh air, beautiful landscapes and the chance to connect with fellow residents and make new freinds along the way!

Who is this event for?

This event is exclusively for students residing in UCL Accommodation. If you are not curently living in UCL Accommodation, you will not be eligible to attend. 

What are the details of this event?

  • Date: Saturday 25 January 2025.
  • Starting time: 9am.
  • Duration: 8 hours.
  • Meeting location: Outside UCL Bloomsbury Theatre. For more details about the location, you can access a link to the venue via Google Maps and What3Words.
  • Cost: £10.

What’s included?

  • Entry tickets to Kew Gardens at a discounted student price and return transport included to and from the Bloomsbury Theatre.
  • 4.5 hours to explore beautiful glasshouses, iconic landscapes, and diverse plant collections.
  • A perfect opportunity to unwind and connect with fellow UCL students.
  • Optional buddy matching based on mutual interests.
  • Optional activity to help you explore the amazing Kew Gardens.

We’re here to make your trip even more enjoyable! If you’d like to travel from your Hall to Kew Gardens with fellow students or buddy up with others based on shared interests, simply fill out this short Microsoft Form. We’ll help connect you with like-minded peers for a more fun and social experience!

Travel note

We will be departing Kew Gardens at around 3:30 PM and aiming to return to UCL by 5:00 PM. However, this timing may be subject to change depending on traffic conditions

Food and drink

You’re welcome to bring your own food and enjoy a picnic anywhere in Kew Gardens' outdoor spaces. However, please note that outside food cannot be consumed in the on-site cafés or restaurants.
