The new date and location of the talk has been finalized!

Tracey Brown, UCL's honorary professor in STEaPP (Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy). She is also the director of Sense About Science, a charity that helps promote the public's understanding of science and received an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for her services to science.

Tracey is best known as the founder of Evidence Week in Parliament, a unique annual gathering of parliamentarians, researchers and the public to discuss how evidence is scrutinised in making policy. Now this week-long event has been continued for seven years, in partnership with the Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology, the House of Commons Library and House of Lords Library.

Additionally, Tracey chairs the board of trustees of Jurassica, a £94 million initiative aimed at bringing the history of prehistoric discovery to life on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast while enhancing knowledge of extinction and biodiversity.

The talk will cover Tracey's personal journey, how she became involved in scientific communication, and offer tips for students considering entering the field. If you're curious about science-based policymaking, or science communication in general, we invite you to join the event!

We look forward to the talk and hope to see everyone there!
