Join us as we ride halfway round some of London's newest bus routes, as we travel the northern hemisphere of the Superloop between North Woolwich and Heathrow Airport. Let's catch the rainbow roundel in action, and experience this express system at its best, before chance for some plane spotting at the end of the day, from the heart of Heathrow.
We will meet at King George V DLR station before hopping on the first bus of the day, before embarking on our journey and exploring the outer stretches of the city. We'll see how express these buses truly are, and ask ourselves whether they're living up to the job they were created for - to truly improve the connectivity in outer London, reducing the need for people to pay high fares to get into Central, only to leave again straight away.
We will take the following routes...
- SL2 - North Woolwich to Walthamstow Central
- SL1 - Walthamstow Central to North Finchley
- SL10 - North Finchley to Harrow
- SL9 - Harrow to Heathrow Central
With the hopper fare, this event will be highly cost efficient to join, as you can hop on and off of the Superloop buses (depending on connection times) without paying multiple fares. [due to the length of the event, one hopper fare will not suffice, but expenditure will be reduced by this]
If this event goes well, we will hold a further event in the future to ride the remainder of the 'loop' sections of Superloop, so you can tell people that you've done the whole thing! 🚌🚌
This DLR station is step-free and use of wheelchair ramps can be used to board all buses taken during the event. There is also step-free access to the Heathrow Terminals 2&3 station which is where the event will end
