Off the Curriculum is an educational charity aiming to inspire young people (ages 16-18) in the London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark to reach new heights.
We (OTC) are an emerging charity aiming to aid young people (ages 15 to 18) along their academic journey, by providing them access to leading intellectuals from diverse fields. We plan to produce educational content not greatly explored by the national curriculum, in the form of both weekly seminars and online video content. We plan for our seminar series to be led by guest speakers and moderated by student-volunteers from London-based universities. The content for our online educational platform, Educo, will be curated by student-volunteers and Off the Curriculum’s personnel.
One of the key reasons we would like to involve university students in this project is to provide them with access to these professionals too, to allow them to develop their skill-set and CV, as well as build up their network. We also thought it is a great way for the volunteers to share with the participants what it is like studying at a University in London.
