Hopscotch Women's Centre is based in Camden, and works pan-London to support women and girls from Global Majority backgrounds. We are embedded in communities, and work in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive and person-centred way to deliver:
-
Domestic abuse advocacy
-
Welfare advice, on benefits, disability and housing
-
Employment and skills development support
-
Refugee advocacy, supporting Afghan families who arrived in Camden in the 2021 evacuations from Kabul, and have been living in hotels
-
Mental health support, including dementia support, one to one and group support, and referrals for counselling in community languages in partnership with NAFSIYAT
-
Wellbeing programmes, including creative activities
-
Anti-isolation social groups for older women
-
Youth work, including Positive Masculinity work with marginalised teenagers in secondary schools, as VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) prevention
We also aim to influence policy, to better meet the needs of marginalised women and girls.
We are seeking skilled volunteers, who can support us in areas such as research, data analysis, evaluation, social media, creative projects or any other specialist skills.
