Language Café
We're excited to introduce the Language Cafe, a student-led volunteering project! Our interactive workshops will run every Wednesday evening during term time, with each session focusing on a specific subject, like a doctor's appointment and related key vocabulary. We want to expand the horizons of English for adult speakers of other languages.
Description

The Language Cafe offers ESOL workshops for adults. Our goal is to provide Survival English skills to the community in and around the UCL Bloomsbury Campus. The initiative holds weekly workshops (these are provisionally set to be held on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 pm). Each week will visit a new topic (e.g. career, transport, medicine and more) and expose participants to key vocabulary in this area.

Your role is to attend and help deliver these sessions successfully.

Duties

- Help prepare materials for the workshop

- Participate in conversation circles focusing on that week's topic

- Take attendance of participants

- Ensure the room is fit and in accordance with our risk assessment

These responsibilities may differ for each volunteer. If chosen to be a volunteer, a meeting with the lead volunteer coordinator will be held outlining all your responsibilities.
