Our Second Home
There are thousands of young refugees and migrants arriving in this country every year. These young people are often isolated and lonely, living in foster care or supported accommodation, without the necessary infrastructure to develop positive social relationships or learn vital skills.
Description

We are looking for new volunteer Youth Leaders to run our residential programmes during the school holidays of this year.

Our residential programmes are three to five-night activity camps for young refugees and migrants aged 14-18. They are a chance for young people to come together and have four or five days of fun and excitement, supported by a dynamic and dedicated team of leaders and staff.

We are looking for youth leaders who can create a safe and fun environment, running engaging activities for the young people who attend our residential programmes and making sure they feel safe and cared for.

Please feel free to watch this video and take a look at this document for more details.

Time commitment

We run residential camps throughout the year. We are currently recruiting for volunteers for trips in every school holiday of this year. Once you have been trained and joined us on a residential you will be a part of the OSH community and invited to join all events, trainings and residential trips. Volunteers tend to get the best out of the experience if they are open to building a relationship with the community and volunteering more than once. Our team of many ages, ethnicities and life skills can be a nourishing community for us all to learn and grow in.

2025 residential trip dates. Volunteers can choose which trips they would like to attend:

● 24-28th May
● 31st-5th Aug
● 22nd-27th Aug
● 22nd-27th Aug (Bristol)

For each of these trips, there will be a training day on a Saturday or Sunday, two weeks before.

for new volunteers especially:
