Tutor The Nation
Tutor The Nation is a charity that makes education fairer, one tutoring session at a time. We pair dedicated volunteers with disadvantaged state school pupils to provide free, online tuition with the aim of helping tutees to develop the skills and confidence they need to achieve their goals.

We are looking for volunteers to give one hour of their week to tutor a secondary-school pupil in a GCSE or A-Level subject of choice.

We are looking for individuals who are…

  • UK-based university students, recent graduates, or experienced tutors
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about their subject area(s)
  • Interested in helping to combat educational inequality
  • Able to commit one hour per week for a minimum of one term

You will make a great tutor if you…

  • Communicate clearly and are highly organised
  • Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards your student
  • Maintain a growth mindset towards learning and tutoring practice
  • Enjoy acting as a role model for a young person

What Tutor The Nation can promise…

  • You will gain invaluable practical experience which will boost your CV and help you to stand out from the crowd
  • Our team is on hand to support you at all stages of the application and tutoring process
  • Four of the top private tutoring companies have joined forces to help us support you with first-rate tutor training
  • You will receive an enhanced DBS check covered by us
  • You can request a reference any time from a member of our team
