As a community centre, we need to have someone friendly and welcoming at our reception. We have regulars and new people coming in all the time so we need someone to be there to help show them where to go, have a little chat and generally making them feel welcome.
A perk of the role is that when you're not busy with welcoming people, you can use the time as you wish - studying, working, reading - whatever you like.
Letting people in the doors using our entry system
Welcoming them in and showing them where to go
Answering any questions they have about the centre, our activities etc
Showing prospective hirers the centre
Answering the phone and taking comprehensive notes
You may be required to do other ad hoc things like making a cup of tea for someone or helping put out chairs and tables. As a busy centre, we all pitch in to help when things need to be done.
As we are a small team, you will also be around Jo, the Centre Manager and Sophie, the Office Manager.
Time commitment
We are looking for people that can do any of the following shifts:
9am - 1pm - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
1pm - 5pm - Monday, Tuesday
We need people who can commit to coming for at least 3 months as you will be learning about the centre, what we provide and who our regulars are. For it to be truly beneficial for us, we need to know that once we've trained you, you will be here for a few months to help us so we can rely on your support.
If you can only commit to one shift a week, that is still great!
