University is a big, exciting place. But life isn’t always easy. We’re here to give you support when you need us, care about the things you care about, and fight for you when need someone in your corner. Our job is to make sure you feel supported every day.
We live by four promises. Four reasons our cafes, bars, shops and gym feel different to those elsewhere: we put every penny of profit back into your community, we’re always better value than the high-street, we’re at the centre of your campus community, and we choose planet over profit.
Together, we can make the world around us better, on campus and beyond. UCL is yours, so shape it. We’re led by students and that means you’re in charge.
If you can imagine it, there’s probably a society for it. Wherever your curiosity takes you, whatever passion inspires you, you’ll find a home in our student-led groups.
We’ll keep you active in a way that works for you. Sport is for everyone, and we’ll help you find your level. From a casual class to captaining a competitive club, live an active lifestyle with us.
This is how you make a difference during your time here, and while you’re at it, add valuable stuff to your CV, give back to the communities you’re living in and discover London in a unique way.
Our events are designed to help you meet people, try new things and have fun. Events are for everyone, but we’ve highlighted ones that are family friendly or good for postgrads. Enjoy!
We need volunteers who can support help our members (young adults with autism and/or learning disabilities) to have lots of fun and challenge themselves in a host of activities throughout the year!Kith & Kids' aim is to empower our members and their families to develop new skills, gain greater confidence and overcome social exclusion. We have an activity to suit the interest and availability…
Kith & Kids provides activities, opportunities, information, and support for people with a learning disability or autism, their parents, and siblings. For all our projects and activities we are dependent on volunteers.
Our Employment & Life Skills Project (ELSP) helps adults with learning disabilities or autism to access further education, work experience and visits to mainstream community opportunities.
ELSP represents a fantastic opportunity for you to share your knowledge and experience built up through a lifetime to a group that is continuing to develop and achieve their targets.
We’ll reimburse your travel expenses and will provide excellent training and lots of helpful support.
The project runs from 10am to 3pm, Mondays and/or Fridays during term-time.
Everyone gets the most out of the project if you come every week for at least a term as you'll build a close relationship with the members you'll have been supporting and will create the most impact.

What measures have you put in place to ensure volunteers’ safety during COVID-19?
We are following a number of safety measures when meeting service-users & volunteers. Taking temperature checks on arrival, asking a number of COVID-related questions before entry, wearing face masks where necessary, suggesting for volunteers to take a lateral flow test before attending an activity. These measures are regularly reviewed.
This organisation is one of our community partner organisations.
Like all volunteer recruiters we work with, they have signed up to our service standards, agreeing to abide by our policy on partnership working to keep you safe and supported whilst you volunteer.
You’ll never be out of pocket for volunteering through us – with in-London travel expenses to and from your volunteering guaranteed.
In addition, the team here at Students’ Union UCL Volunteering Service is here to support you throughout your volunteering journey – you can get in touch with us at any time.
