CHOICE IN HACKNEY is a Disabled People User Led Organisation, which means we're run by disabled people, for disabled people. We support disabled people from all communities to obtain the services they need to live independently, with dignity and to make choices about their own lifestyles.

A Volunteer Gardener will be visiting the gardens of disabled people to perform basic gardening tasks. Our Gardening Service matches volunteers with disabled people who need assistance with their gardens. Our volunteers help their service users to transform it into a vital green space for them to enjoy.

Time commitment

The support is flexible according to the availability of the volunteer but should last for at least three months. Typically gardeners visit once a week.
What measures have you put in place to ensure volunteers’ safety during COVID-19?
The gardening role is entirely distanced, requiring no close interaction between the service user and volunteer.
