Age UK Kensington & Chelsea is a local charity working with and for older people. We aim to promote independence and well-being in later life, encouraging self-help and peer support. We offer a wide range of services and activities, and provide interesting opportunities for people of all ages to get involved as volunteers.
Description
We are looking for volunteers to provide personalised support to older people to develop their digital skills and confidence. This project is part of our Activities & Events programme that seeks to support older people at risk of social isolation by bringing them together to learn a new skill.
Duties
We are looking for volunteers to cover these duties:
- Liaise with the Project Coordinator and Project Administrator to be matched with older people for whom the Volunteer Digital Champion is best placed to provide support (based on interests, skills and competencies and availability).
- Understand the specific needs and goals of the individual engaging with support, including their existing confidence and skills.
- Using pre-existing templates and resources, create personalised sessions plans for individual clients to support them to meet their goals.
- Deliver one-to-one support and group workshops with older people to develop their digital skills and confidence.
- Collect monitoring information from clients' sessions and share with the Project Coordinator/Project Administrator as applicable.

Time commitment
One-to-one support sessions may be regular and ongoing depending on the needs of the individual.
