Description

The UCL Teddy Bear Clinic is a student led volunteering project that has been running for the past 15 years! We teach primary school students about health and safety in a fun and informative way.

The sessions last for 1 and a half hours on Wednesday afternoons. Every session encompasses a different topic such as healthy eating, hygiene, health and safety, and doctors and patients.

We will provide you with all the training you need, and it is an amazing opportunity to improve on your teaching, presenting and communication skills with the added bonus of playing a huge role in the formation of healthy habits in young children!

We are all so excited for this year and hope to see you join us!

Duties

Volunteers will be teaching a class of students aged 5-7, this can vary! The project leaders will teach the volunteers how to present, keep the children engaged and do the planned out activities.

Volunteers have to explain to the children how to do tasks, why they are doing the task, and help them form positive connections with how this can relate to them in their lives.

Who will the volunteers be working with?
Primary school children aged 5-7
Training
You must complete the Volunteering Service's course on Volunteering with Children.

Time commitment

Once a week in term 2 on Wednesday afternoons. You must be able to attend all sessions.

This is an opportunity offered by a Student-Led Volunteering Project. It is run by UCL students and supported and supervised by staff in Students' Union UCL Volunteering Service.
