Fulham Palace Trust
Since 704 Fulham Palace has been the historic house and garden of the Bishop of London. Our vision is to engage people and provide an insight, through the stories of the Bishops of London, into over 1300 years of English history, and to become one of Great Britain's most loved and inspiring historic houses and gardens.

Our public events programme is a very important part of our work, both for Palace income and for raising awareness of Fulham Palace in the local community.

A key part of the role is to welcome and assist event attendees and any external organisers or performers. As well as helping on the event day you might also want to get involved in the lead up to events, with admin and marketing.

Depending upon your interests, experience and availability, tasks include:

At the event:

  • helping set up and pack away for events and exhibitions
  • welcoming attendees and engaging with visitors throughout events
  • preparing attendee ticket lists and event tickets
  • ticket collection, selling tickets/taking payments
  • assisting event organisers

Prior to the event:

  • assist in event , vendors and performers planning and research
  • communicating with performers and vendors
  • promoting upcoming events including around palace and in local area
  • engaging with local businesses leafleting
  • completing satisfaction surveys at events

Whilst support and training will be provided, from time to time volunteers may work independently or without one to one supervision

Who will the volunteers be working with?
Volunteers will be working with Isabel Ricketts , events and marketing manager and other volunteers.
Any training required will be given on site and when necessary.

Time commitment

Events admin work can take place any day of the week including weekends, and can be done from home. The events themselves often run in the evening or weekends. There is normally several months’ notice of events so you can put the date in your diary.

This organisation is one of our community partner organisations.

Like all volunteer recruiters we work with, they have signed up to our service standards, agreeing to abide by our policy on partnership working to keep you safe and supported whilst you volunteer.

You’ll never be out of pocket for volunteering through us – with in-London travel expenses to and from your volunteering guaranteed.

In addition, the team here at Students’ Union UCL Volunteering Service is here to support you throughout your volunteering journey – you can get in touch with us at any time.
