Our Oxfam fashion charity shop at Islington is looking for responsible adults who can commit 4 to 6 hours per week for three months, at least, to support us with the store's opening and closing.
We seek enthusiastic people passionate about second-hand trading, business management, volunteering, ethical shopping, and customer service. The involved tasks in the role are: Supporting the shop manager with the day-to-day running of the shop according to business demands; selecting, preparing, and pricing donated clothes and homewares in line with shop guidelines; taking specific responsibility for tasks such as opening and closing the shop and supervising other volunteers; providing excellent customer service whilst operating the till; and completing end-of-day banking.
We reimburse travel expenses in line with Oxfam policy. We offer a Wellness action plan linked to Retail Trust (Mental health support and Financial advice); We provide a certificate of volunteering plus references at the end of the experience. Also, lots of cookies, tea & coffee are provided.
Joining Oxfam, you will be helping to beat poverty and fight climate change. You are helping your local community promote second-hand retail's importance in reducing fabric and textile waste (landfill). You will contribute to making income to deliver humanitarian aid and support our UK campaigners to beat poverty in the UK.
