Opportunity: Online Tutoring volunteer

Commitment:
Regular volunteering
Commitment - more information:
Volunteers should be happy to commit to tutoring weekly for a least a term. All volunteers must provide 2 references and be willing to do a DBS check.
Opportunity description:

We are looking for friendly and engaging volunteers to support our weekly tutoring sessions and make a difference to the often challenging lives of children and young people living in inner city London. As a Tutoring volunteer, you will enable us to support young people with their studies who might not have support at home or school.

Monday Tutoring – 16:00-17:00 or 17:00-18:00.

Tutoring sessions for young people ages 10-18 years provide a safe and friendly space to do homework, go over concepts and learning and do revision. Your time will make a huge impact on young people who need academic support. The sessions are very well attended so we need lots of great volunteers to help them run successfully!

Location:
Sessions currently take place online using Zoom and we plan to continue this for the rest of this term. The sessions use breakout rooms so that pairs and small groups can work together but request support from Coin Street staff if they need help at any point.
Application deadline:
Monday, 2 November 2020 - 5:00pm
What measures have you put in place to ensure volunteers’ safety during COVID-19?:
Tutoring volunteering is currently online to maintain safety of volunteers and young people. We are strengthening our online safeguarding procedures to keep volunteers and students safe online.
