Description
- A Community Oral History Project set in Barnsbury Islington.
- In the surrounding area of St Andrews Church Thornhill Square, interviewing residents from all areas of the community on their memories of Islington and how it’s changed over the years.
- Volunteers will attend and help to run and record Memory Drop In Workshops with local residents and interviewees. These will be short focus groups followed up by some 1:1 interviews.
- Transcribe recorded interviews and focus groups to be used to create a community led exhibition celebrating Barnsburys past, present and future.
Duties
- To complete a day’s training course on oral history interviewing techniques.
- To meet local interviewees at Memory Drop in Workshops. There will be six in total.
- To conduct some face to face interviews.
- To transcribe the interviews.
- To complete evaluation forms.
Time commitment
There will be one day's training which must be attended.
