Finding the Flex
Our mission is to support local authorities and schools in enabling access to flexischooling for more children so they learn and thrive. We see a future where all the adults with a duty of care can work together, responding to the needs of individual children and fostering a more inclusive, compassionate and effective education system.
Description
At Finding the Flex, we broaden children’s opportunities by partnering with local authorities and schools to meet the growing need for educational flexibility. We are about to commence three pilots with a Local Authority, academy trust and school and we want to carefully measure the positive social impact of our offering.
We are recruiting a team of volunteers to collaborate with us to measure the social impact of our pilot programme, to make the case for scaling up flexischooling. We will be focussing on three outcomes:
- addressing the needs of neurodivergent children and those with a SEND profile
- utilising flexischooling as a positive and pre-emptive EBSNA intervention
- reducing the numbers of children being de-registered from school
Duties
- Work closely with Finding the Flex to outline the scope of data collection and analysis.
- Establish baseline data at the beginning of the pilot.
- Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to determine the social impact of flexischooling programmes.
Who will the volunteers be working with?
Sarah Sudea from Finding the Flex will manage the students as volunteers. The students will have opportunities for mentorship with an experienced researcher, to help support their volunteering work and individual professional development.
Time commitment
Weekly progress is expected, but specific hours will be decided with volunteers. Students can be flexible with their hours around their studies.
