The Latin Programme is a small educational charity based in London, teaching high quality and creative Latin lessons to pupils at state primary schools. The core aims of our organisation are to improve literacy levels and life chances for pupils in London, to allow as many pupils as possible to reap the benefit of regular language learning, and to introduce more learners to the study of the ancient world through creative and innovative methods.
We are looking for volunteers for our annual Summer School, in collaboration with the Classical Association. This is a week-long event open to Key Stage 2 and 3 children, who will be taking part in a range of creative workshops and activities, while learning about the ancient world. This year, we will be incorporating visits to museums and other cultural sites within London.
Volunteer responsibilities:
- Assist with the day-to-day tasks of the Summer School (help supervise breaks, set up classrooms, collect work).
- Accompany Summer School participants on trips.
