Share Your Language and Culture & Volunteer for Language & Culture Day!

Do you love sharing your language and culture? Want to inspire young learners in a fun, interactive way? Here’s your chance!

Join us for a one-day cultural exchange where UCL students will lead hands-on workshops for primary school children. Through games, storytelling, and activities, you’ll introduce them to new languages, traditions, and cultures and there is no teaching experience required!

Date: 24th February 2026
Time: 9am - 2pm
Location: Bloomsbury 
Who can volunteer: UCL students passionate about languages and culture

Duties
  • Work in teams to plan and deliver interactive workshops for primary school children.
  • Introduce cultural traditions, geography, and language through fun, hands-on activities.
  • Collaborate with Educational Specialists, who will provide guidance and support.
  • Adapt informal language learning or cultural sharing experiences for a younger audience.
  • Attend a mandatory planning meeting on 3rd February from 10:00 - 12:00, as well as additional group meetings leading up to the event.
Training
1 - Guidance on session development
2 - All necessary resources and materials will be provided
3 - Educational Specialists will offer support and advice

Time commitment

1 - Attend the mandatory planning meeting on Tuesday 3rd February, 10am - 12pm
2 - Organise at least one additional group meeting to finalize workshop details
3 - Be available on 24th February, 9am - 2pm, for the event
4 - Engage in a meaningful cultural exchange with local school pupils
