The Restart Project
The Restart Project is a people-powered social enterprise that aims to fix our relationship with electronics.

This is a volunteering opportunity for IT / Engineering students.

The Fixing Factory is located in Abbey Road Reuse and Recycling Centre. We are taking laptops which would have ended up as e-waste, refurbishing them and then donating the to people in the local community without access to tech.

We are looking for volunteers specifically interested in refurbishing/repairing/testing laptops at this site. All experience levels welcome.

Time commitment

This wouldn't be a huge commitment and can work around your schedule. We are open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 10am-4pm.

There is a weekend opportunity once a month, directly supporting the community.

What measures have you put in place to ensure volunteers’ safety during COVID-19?
If you are experiencing COVID symptoms you shouldn't enter the site. The space has adequate ventilation. You may wear a mask if preferred. There are sanitising stations on site.
