Join us for our Capturing Impact through Stories and Visuals project
The Research Volunteering programme through the Community Research Initiative gives YOU the power to take your research and classroom skills out into the community to create a positive social impact. Through our bite size projects, you’ll work with a group of interdisciplinary peers and organisational allies to tackle a project that will draw on your research skills. These projects are flexible and designed with students in mind to give you amazing experience to fuel your CV, explore new skills, and meet other likeminded students. Each opportunity is unique, make sure to check out our page for more information.
All about the organisation
ARTBASH is an inspiring and inclusive art therapy informed programme accessible to all.
OUR MISSION is to support and promote creative health through art therapy informed workshops aimed at children, young people and adults.
OUR VALUES are inclusion, creativity, and empowerment.
OUR GOALS are to actively promote creative health which acknowledges that taking part in cultural activities will contribute to longer lives that are better lived. Creative health supports better mental and physical health. It enables people to discover an outlet for often complex and confusing feelings, and foster self-awareness and growth. It enables people access a safe and non-judgemental space with creativity at its core.
A bit about the project
Artbash are hoping to develop an evaluation approach that lasts, flexing across all their different workshop offers and opportunities. They have exisiting data that shows how impactful their programmes can be, but are looking for brilliant students to make sense of this information to highlight their impact. Evaluation and impact are vehicles to gain more funding and to improve their processes, so Artbash would love to include students in the process of grant application creation if they would like to gain experience in this area as well.
- What can I expect from this opportunity?
- You’ll develop a template that will help Artbash evaluate the impact of their range of workshops (think offers ranging across different boroughs with a range of participant types, activity types, etc.).
- Dive into existing case study data to give Artbash a snapshot of the impact of their past workshops
- Optionally students can support Artbash with a potential funding application, giving them experience with third sector funding landscape and grant applications!
- How will my work on this project impact the community?
- Your impact information snapshots will directly feed into Artbash’s applications for further funding
- By supporting Artbash to create a streamlined process to produce evidence of impact, youll build their capacity for reflection, improvement, and growth of their essential programmes for young people.
- Key learning points for students – creating systems using novel methods, summarising case study information, focus on creating engaging materials to be read by different audiences, wider community impact work
