What measures have you put in place to ensure volunteers’ safety during COVID-19?
Upon arrival, all volunteers and staff must sign in to our City Harvest premises.

Within this sign-in process, in an effort to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure to City Harvest staff and volunteers, all must read carefully and complete the screening questions below:

1. Have you been experiencing any flu like symptoms, such as fever, dry cough, unusual aches and pains, or any symptoms that are indicators of coronavirus?
2. Have you been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
(If YES, please do NOT enter facility and follow NHS guidance.)
3. Please take your temperature check and enter below in °C :

Whilst onsite, we endeavour to ensure that social distancing is adhered to by all staff and volunteers.

With this in mind, our limit on volunteers onsite at one time has been capped at 10 in Acton (13,500 sq. ft warehouse) and at 5 in New Spitalfields Market (smaller, majoritively outdoors space).

Cleaning and hand-sanitising stations are positioned at regular intervals around our sites, and disposable gloves are provided. Face masks are not compulsory, due to the open, aerated space within which we operate.

This organisation is one of our community partner organisations.

Like all volunteer recruiters we work with, they have signed up to our service standards, agreeing to abide by our policy on partnership working.

In addition, the team here at Students’ Union UCL Volunteering Service is here to support you throughout your volunteering journey – you can get in touch at any time with any questions, queries or problems you encounter.
