Help us find new opportunities to raise funds to help children who are seriously unwell and their families
At Noah's Ark Children's Hospice, we help babies, children and young people with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions, and their families, make the most of every day. Our fundraising team raises around £7 million each year to provide vital support.
We’re looking for a volunteer with strong research skills and excellent attention to detail to help our Philanthropy & Partnerships team identify potential new supporters, including trusts, major donors and corporate partners.
You’ll research grant-making organisations, identify potential prospects and help strengthen our fundraising efforts. Your work could ultimately lead to significant income for the charity.

Noah’s Ark takes their responsibility for safeguarding the wellbeing of children seriously. This role is subject to two references and an enhanced DBS check.
- Assess published lists of grant-making organisations and ascertain whether they are suitable to receive a fundraising approach from Noah’s Ark
- Carry out additional research online to support your findings, as appropriate
- Accurately log the outcome of this research, including highlighting key information required by the fundraising team
- Flagging any time sensitive opportunities identified in your research to the fundraising team
At Noah’s Ark, we value volunteer support, and we are also aware that not all roles are suitable for everyone. The interview and training process is in place to ensure that the Noah’s Ark staff get to know more about you, that you are given the correct training for the role and that you can find out if this is a role you would like to undertake. The training process is as follows:
Attend a Volunteer Information Session: all potential volunteers have to attend one of these sessions before they are able to get involved in any capacity
Informal Interview : This will take place at the Noah’s Ark Office at a mutually agreeable time.
Core Training: Any volunteers wanting to work directly with, or who come into contact with Noah’s Ark families are required to attend the 6 hour training.
Safeguarding E-Learning : An e-learning module on protecting the welfare and wellbeing of children and young people, along with Noah’s Ark’s processes and procedures.
