St Joseph's Hospice
Founded in 1905 by the Sisters of Charity, St Joseph’s Hospice is one of the oldest and largest hospices in the UK.
Description

St Joseph’s Hospice relies on the generosity and support of our local community to permit us to continue providing for our patients and their families. We need to raise around £7 million a year to keep the Hospice running and source income through a number of channels. By becoming a fundraising volunteer you would be directly assisting us with this mammoth task and ensuring that we can be there for everyone who needs us the most.

Whether you would like to volunteer on a regular weekly or monthly basis or if your time available to volunteer is on more of an ad hoc basis, we would love to welcome you to the Fundraising Team!

As an office volunteer, you would be based in our friendly office at St Joseph’s Hospice, roles tend to last from 2 hours to a couple of days depending on the project and so there really is something for everyone!

Duties

As a fundraising office volunteer you might help with:

  • Sending out mailings
  • Refreshing our collection tins
  • Laminating
  • Stock checking
  • Making telephone calls
  • Contacting local clubs and businesses
  • Contacting local schools
  • Making up packs for our annual Rudolph Run event
Who will the volunteers be working with?
You'll be working with our friendly fundraising team!
Training
Training will be given whilst in the role and we are on hand to support you if and when you need it.

Time commitment

Office hours are normally 9am to 5pm and fundraising volunteers generally volunteer during those core hours, but not for all of them. You can volunteer with us for a couple of hours to a full day depending on what you want to do and what we have on offer at the time!
Application deadline

This organisation is one of our community partner organisations.

Like all volunteer recruiters we work with, they have signed up to our service standards, agreeing to abide by our policy on partnership working to keep you safe and supported whilst you volunteer.

You’ll never be out of pocket for volunteering through us – with in-London travel expenses to and from your volunteering guaranteed.

In addition, the team here at Students’ Union UCL Volunteering Service is here to support you throughout your volunteering journey – you can get in touch with us at any time.
