Do you speak French? We are seeking a patient and enthusiastic volunteer French Tutor to lead weekly sessions for Kensington & Chelsea residents over 55.
Language learning is a powerful tool for cognitive health and a fantastic way to bring people together. Your goal is to lead a "social learning" experience—helping members master basic French phrases while exploring the culture and history of the French-speaking world.
- Lead Weekly Lessons: Teach practical, conversational French (e.g., greetings, travel basics, and daily expressions).
- Cultural Engagement: Bring the language to life by discussing French traditions, cinema, or cuisine.
- Supportive Instruction: Adapt your lessons for beginners, ensuring the pace is relaxed and everyone feels comfortable participating.
- Building Community: Facilitate group activities that encourage members to talk to one another, turning the class into a weekly social event.
Time commitment
Time: 1 hour per week (Schedule to be confirmed).
Duration: We ask for a commitment of at least one full term to provide stability for the group.
